MY PTOWN

August 11, 2011
Just like with the jazz music he plays, Bart Weisman keeps
a steady drumbeat of great music rolling all year long in Provincetown. Long know as an art colony for over a
century, with celebrated artists, writers, and actors, people often forget that
music is always played a vital role in the creativity that makes Provincetown
run. Weisman works with the Provincetown Business Guild booking acts for AprilŐs
Cabaret Fest and runs a summer jazz series at the Provincetown Art Association
and Museum, where he also performs an annual holiday concert in December. An in-demand musician for private
functions, Weisman plays with both the Bart Weisman Jazz Group and Bart Weisman
Klezmer Swing Group year-round. This week, Weisman brings the 7th Annual
Provincetown Jazz Festival to Town Hall. Recently, George Wein, the founder of
the legendary Newport Jazz Festival, met with Weisman and gave an enthusiastic
thumbs up to the Provincetown Jazz Festival.
